However, I am now incredibly frustrated. I have added your code for prefetching and I still cannot get this query to even complete on a machine with 512MB or RAM allocated to the application pool. It just keeps using memory until it dies.

I just don't get it. I am going to do some more review of the memory utilization to see where things are going but it must be something specific to our environment.

If you need more info, please let me know. It can be other queries eat also memory, instead of this one. Do you just test with this single page? And the entity you store in the session, is that perhaps the cause?
