Unattended refresh in v3.0?

I just switched from 2.6 to 3.0, and I'm missing the "Unattended refresh" feature. All I see is the "Relational Model Data Retrieval Wizard", which is very nice, but it takes 6 clicks just to indicate that I want all the same settings as before.

1) Test connection 2) Ok on connection dialog 3) Next 4) Next 5) Next 6) Finish

Is there some way to speed this up like before?

Thanks,

Wesley

There's no unattended refresh anymore, since the procedure of refreshing has changed: you select which elements to fetch the meta-data from and walk through a simple wizard. If you want to speed it up, hit enter a couple of times instead of clicking, but it takes just a few seconds...

Why can't there be a short cut that uses the same settings as before?

there won't be a shortcut in v3's designer.

We do have a workitem scheduled to add a command line refresher, but when it is added is not yet decided.

the process, as described, is different from previous versions, so unattended refreshes unavoidably run into problems. It takes just a few seconds, so it's not as if things are really slow with the new system.

The v3.1 command line refresher will be included in v3.1, it will be added to the beta of v3.1 released tomorrow.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but does this mean I have to enter the DB password every time I want to do a refresh?

It's not saved in the file, as it's an ascii file. In v3.5 (now in beta, see customer area) it remembers the password as long as the designer is open.
