I've created a windows application written in .NET 2.0/c# using LLBLGen Pro 2.5 with adapter that connects to SQL Server 2005 dBs.

I'd now like to create a web front-end and have come across Visual WebGui (http://www.visualwebgui.com/) which looks excellent for a number of reasons like the rich UI, ease of development, multiple presentation layers, responsiveness and security.

Just wondering if any fellow LLBLers out there have used the product and would be kind enough to share their good or bad experiences.

Cheers, Chris

Their featured demos don't work with Opera...

Hi,

have you allready some more experience with Visual WebGUI? I might consider it too (took a look last year, but there were some blocking bugs then ... )

I did notice that now it is a paying product (last year it was free), but it still might be worth trying out for a new project that i'm about to start...

Hey Guys -

I'm using VisualWebGui extensively here. Writing a software product right now based on VWG & LLBLGen Pro.

Love the tools together. Hands down. Over the past ~1.5 years, I've made some substantial gains in automating & integrating VWG & LLBLGen Pro into a common Library.

Here is the current functionality: http://vwgframeworks.codeplex.com/Wiki/View.aspx?title=VWGEntityBridge

Hope this helps! Also, Please let me know if you would like to collaborate with me on VWG & LLBLGen Pro.

Ryan

Hi,

I just found some time to download you framework, and although I can't built it "out of the box" (some subsonic reference missing and 4 projects I can't load, probably due to the fact I don't have VWG installed on this pc at the moment), the amount of work you seem to have put in it looks impressive. I will sure dig this out a little further, but have you some screenshots of stuff you have made with it ?

My biggest fear is, that when I choose this route to develop a project for a client, is that I will be "locked in" with their technoloy, and while I hear good stuff on VWG, I read some less pleasant (buggy) stuff here and there ...

Hi HcD -

That Subsonic thing you downloaded is not my EntityBridge. It is Michael Hensen's MEF plug-in framework for VisualWebGui.

All emerging frameworks have had limitations and bugs. But Visual WebGui is to the point now - where it is very solid. I have 3 separate clients with applications running on VWG. Lately I've been doing a lot of screencasts to help people see the benefits & understand how to be using Visual WebGui.

I can't provide screenshots of my client's software without their prior written permission. However, you can take a look at the screenshots from the Showcases:

http://visualwebgui.com/Gizmox/Showcases/tabid/358/Default.aspx

I could never have built this type of complexity in standard ASP.NET. Please let me know if I can be of further assistance or answer any further questions.

I'm happy to help -

Ryan
