Please please PLEASE read the enclosed llblgenpro.chm BEFORE doing anything else. It contains important information about migrating your existing code, making backups etc.

Feedback should be placed in the LLBLGen Pro v2.0 forums.

The reference manuals will be added soon (probably tomorrow). simple_smile

downloaded and think i found first problem:

contruct target per entities hierarchies doesn't work anymore.

in 2005.1 worked fine and found all hierarchies correctly. any idea how i might get this back?

-edit

doesn't seem to be catching relations either? i'm sure i'm not supposed to have to map these all manually now.

Ok serious issue indeed, it doesn't read relations on SQLServer. Looking into it.

What about purchasing a license for v2.0? I have currently been evaluating the product and am ready to purchase a license, I would like to start using v2.0 beta but do not want to purchase a v1.0 license and then have to pay to upgrade later?

There is a fee to upgrade to v2.0 license, correct?

Ok Fixed.

I'm uploading a new version of the beta 'as we speak'. It will take 2 minutes or so,

Please re-download the beta as soon as the item on the beta's page has been changed, so 3 minutes or so from now. simple_smile

Further beta feedback -> beta forums. simple_smile

There is an upgrade fee I'm afraid, but it's only 49 euro p.p. Licensing will change with v2.0, from department to individual, while the base price of 229 euro stays the same. This means that if you're in a team of 2 or more people, you'd be better off purchasing now and upgrading later. If you're on your own, you could wait, but as the beta is only open to customers, you wouldn't be able to try it...

It wouldn't be fair for our 'old' and very faithful customers to offer free upgrading to 'new' ones simple_smile

Thanks. I'll re-download and try again.

** Also I got a popup telling me Janus wasn't licensed to me although it didn't seem to prevent me from doing anything. I beleive that's a UI control used in LLBLGen designer right. You may want to look into it.

Yeah, I fixed that one too. Was a licenses.licx issue, some control wasn't registered in that license file. simple_smile

Yeah I am a solo developer and only need an individual license, I was wondering more about the possibility of pre-purchasing a v2.0 license now (or soon), rather than buying a 1.0 license and then upgrading.

I am really itching to try the new features in v2.0, but I suppose I can contain myself until it is officially released wink

From where to download the beta?

When I click the download, I get the v1.0, and not the v2.0.

Thanks

Gabor

Any chance that a noncustomer sees the beta?

The release will be any day. I think you will be able then to download a restricted version. So just hold on for a while. simple_smile

Hi,

Yes, I know. But unfortunatelly it is more complicated than that :-). At the time when I needed a good ORM, LLBLGen didn't support .net 2 natively thus I went with a competiton. So I won't switch ORM just like that now. Now I might reconsider though as I always knew that LLBLGen is an excellent ORM.

First thought which flew through my mind was: "why would a DXSquad member reconsider the competition again?" wink stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye

Why not? :-) I already stated I think, that if I were to make an ORM (which I would if I had time) I would make it very similarily to LLBLGen, except for fetching server generated values on the fly and using CodeSmith (because I am used to it) as a code generator :-P - IOW LLBLGen feels very native to me. I guess I have to work with it for a while to find its downsides (if there are any), however, I have a very good feeling about it.
