I hate to be a whiner, but to me it is really annoying that many links on the forums open a new window. I think pretty much everyone here knows how to ctrl or shift click a link to get the appropriate behavior. Its not a big deal, but I always have a million browser windows and tabs open and spend quite a bit of time on the forums so just makes things worse for me...could it be changed? simple_smile

I'm sorry... no it won't be changed. The HTML of posts is already cached in the DB, so we can't really make this a setting, as some people want this and others don't, unless we use javascript to change it. But frankly I have no idea how to do that with javascript.

Sorry, should have been more specific....I was referring to, for example:

<a href="Search.aspx" class="HeaderLinkTop" target="_blank">Search</a><br>

Just to get things clear: your main gripe is with the links in the menus etc. ? I can see a point in that, as you stay on this site. Links in the posts, I'll keep those as open in a new window, the point is that they're always referrals to 'further info' and therefore the source of the link has to be visible as well (you likely will almost never want to get rid of the original post linking to the external URL).

The urls at the right top are now opening in THIS window, not in a new window anymore.

Uploading a new header.ascx killed the forum flushed temporarily, it works now.
